Rosana set up the Jewel Box in 1981 and has grown it into a family business comprising two shops and a workshop. The Jewel Box caters for a diverse market offering a range of beautiful gold chains and quality diamond jewelry mostly set in their workshop. Keeping up with new trends and passing on the best possible prices to her customers is important to Rosana, but the part of her work which is most important is getting to know her customers, treating them with respect and making them feel comfortable in her shop.
Her early education by the Loreto nuns has been a strong influence in Rosana's life and helping people less fortunate than herself, particularly in Gibraltar, Peru and Morocco, brings her much happiness.

Lydia has worked in various countries in banking (English Banks) and real estate (American Institutions) in the Caribbean. In the Caribbean she took up diving as a hobby and became involved with various diving magazines, journalism and photography for competitions and exhibitions, having worked closely with the NASA underwater habitat in the Bahamas. Most recently she spent 19 years working in marina management. Her initial education was in Gibraltar by the Loreto nuns, but her drive, was inherited from her father who always said to her 'if you wish something to be done do it yourself'. She has traveled extensively with her husband and two sons and gained a great wealth of knowledge from the peoples of the world, something she always likes to transmit to others. Upon returning to Gibraltar she became a committee member of the Gibraltar Women's Association, and she later was a co-founder member of the Gibraltar Business Network in 1992. She lobbied extensively (through these two organisations) to include women on, previously all male, juries in Gibraltar amongst other social issues. |
